Community hosted fundraiser raises money for the safehouse

MARIMARI is more than a film, it’s a call to action, and the main action we’re asking our viewers to take is to help us raise $80,000NZD to build a safehouse for sorcery accusation survivors in Papua New Guinea.

We know not everyone has the money to spare and so we are extremely grateful to those who give the gift of their time to run fundraisers on our behalf.

The women of Brookvale (the community in Paraparaumu where our Director Paul’s mum Maire lives) held a fundraising afternoon tea on Wednesday the 24th July to raise some money for the safe house. The soup and bread rolls drew in a small crowd and they raised $120.

A huge thank you from our team to theirs. Every dollar counts in this kaupapa and we’re lucky to have the Brookevale ladies cooking and eating to help us achieve our goal.

Could you help us reach audiences you’re connected to, or donate your time by running a fundraiser for us? We can supply all the materials you need to hold fundraisers or private screenings to raise funds for Evelyn’s Safehouse. We’re happy to split funds raised in charity partnership screenings as well.
